For Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia Cannot Be Ignored
When it comes to Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia has been a thorn in her side for quite some time. What does this mean? It means that she stopped eating some time ago and eats only the bare minimum to keep her alive. Even then, her body is ravaged by the anorexia and is going downhill fast. What is anorexia nervosa? It is a disease wherein the person simply refuses to maintain a minimal body weight for their height. They are really afraid of gaining weight and do everything in their power not to. A body weight much less than what would be considered a normal level is maintained by taking in so few calories. For Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia was a way of life.
You might ask why. Well, Mary Kate Olsen is a very high-profile person. Further, she has been in the limelight since she was just 9 months old. Because of this, there is a lot of pressure felt by her and her sister to be a specific size, no matter what, and to do whatever it takes to maintain that self-imposed acceptable size. This meant for Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia Nervosa. There is a lot of pressure on someone like Mary Kate. First, she is a very famous teen celebrity who has never really had her own persona. She has instead been linked with her twin in all the work they did up until they were 18 years old. The movie they starred in at 18, New York Minute, did not do well at the box office. Further, they became in charge of their billions of dollars when they turned 18. This is a ton of pressure for an 18 year old girl. Because eating disorders seem to run in families, Mary Kate's sister has also been in the spotlight, although she has not shown signs of the disease. For Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia only seems to have hit her. Perhaps her twin has been more able to handle the pressures of their high society life. Perhaps she has somehow always felt a little less than her twin. It is unsure why she would suffer from this issue and her twin sister does not. It is known, however, that things like social isolation, perfectionism and even a low self-esteem are huge causes in people who have anorexia. For Mary Kate Olsen Anorexia is definitely still a part of her life, and a problem she cannot ignore.
